Giclee Prints Available

The term “giclee print” indicates an elevated level of print technology that provides better color accuracy than more common color ink printers. The prints are typically created using 8-12 color ink-jet printers. One advantage to this is the quality and durability of the production. The other is that the artist can print the picture in many different sizes from the original digital file. I print with Archival Ink, using an Epson 3800 9 color ink jet printer and high quality acid free Fine Art Paper. Each image can be printed in any desired size.

Artistic Process

The first three galleries contain photomontages that are the product of extraction and manipulation of the digital image, using Photoshop. The photographs in this gallery have minimal adjustments.

I love taking pictures of the natural world. I taught high school biology for 32 years, and nature is a central focus of my life. There is so much diversity in the natural world, with all its intricacies and extraordinary adaptations for survival.

This gallery contains pictures from my garden, those of friends and family, and from more commercial venues. I have also included photos from several trips. The Cornell University Plantations have a wide variety of opportunities for nature photography, containing herb and wildflower gardens, a winter garden, perennial gardens, gorges through the campus, all part of the over 4,000 acres of biologically diverse and ecologically fragile natural areas.

The selections in the gallery are a sample of the types of pictures I take, but are not all-inclusive. If you have a favorite subject that is not shown, please contact me. In this gallery, you can see photos of flowers, ponds, rock gardens, the Cornell Plantation’s bridge over a lovely pond, a Blue Heron perched at the top of an Oak Tree, Cornell’s Beebe Lake in the Autumn, and an end of the season cattail at the Lab or Ornithology.
