Giclee Prints Available The term “giclee print” indicates an elevated level of print technology that provides better color accuracy than more common color ink printers. The prints are typically created using 8-12 color ink-jet printers. One advantage to this is the quality and durability of the production. The other is that the artist can print the picture in many different sizes from the original digital file. I print with Archival Ink, using an Epson 3800 9 color ink jet printer and high quality acid free Fine Art Paper. Each image can be printed in any desired size. Click image for sizes and pricing. Artistic ProcessI lived and worked in Laos, 1965-70, and the Buddha image became very familiar and was central to the Southeast Asian cultures. My personal art collection contains several artifacts, ranging from a bronze from Thailand to a plastic sculpture from a local mall. I have also photographed some lovely Buddha sculptures owned by friends. While visiting Sarasota, Florida, I photographed two more Buddhas in the Selby Garden. In Sedona, Arizona, there was a marvelous standing Buddha that I photographed and included in recent montages. Each sculpture has been photographed and the image itself extracted. The image can then be added to any flower montage, but works especially well with the lotus. Photoshop allows an adjustment of transparency of any layer. I chose to make some of the Buddha partly transparent, thereby allowing the lotus flower to show through the sculpture. I think it is a very effective way to incorporate a foreign object into a flower montage. After the flower is photographed, I manipulate it in Photoshop to extract parts of the flowers. These parts are then arranged on the digital canvas and further adjusted in Photoshop. A Buddha or other foreign object is then introduced to the montage. |
